ART and me
For me art is an oasis of escape and relaxation. A vehicle for self expression that’s enjoyable. A time of pleasurable solitude. A hobby that began in childhood.
I considered a form of art seriously by applying and getting accepted to a High School specializing in fashion design. But then I switched my major to fashion merchandising because I feared being creatively stunted by the creativity of others. I also thought that merchandising was more practical and what I needed to learn instead. Or was I just intimidated?
Much later I took college courses majoring in architectural design resulting in great appreciation and admiration for architects, engineers and builders. I am in awe of their knowledge and skills. In another lifetime, I probably would have pursued a career somewhere in this profession. Instead, for a time, I volunteered as an architectural drafter for a non-profit organization and got to work with the nicest and most amazing group of people in the industry by far!
Today, the artist in me is being motivated by interior design and the desire to live in a beautifully decorated home. I absolutely gush over it. I don’t devote as much time to it because of other priorities. Nevertheless, occasionally I do upcycle, craft or paint according to my eclectic tastes. I love that word eclectic! My current home is a mesh of old Hollywood glam, mid-century modern, art deco and space age. All timeless designs, all intertwined, and all favorites of mine.
Here, I'm sharing my loved completed projects (yay!). Perhaps they can inspire you with ideas of your own. Just glad you are here! By the way, writing, building and designing my website are forms of art I enjoy as well.

Pose
Completed amidst a global pandemic.. Upcycled art piece purchased at T.J. Max to fit my new style.
For the first time I completed an acrylic painting. I named it Pose,. My canvas was a hanging I was no longer happy with and I upcycled. I just painted right over it and the frame. The colors were dictated by the colors of my bathroom.
